The Bavarian Wristband
Show you’re one of Die Roten with a stylish design paying homage to Munich’s first European championship.
MATCH STORY
Having established themselves as a domestic power over the previous decade, it wasn’t surprising to see Germany’s most decorated club progress all the way to their first European Cup final during the 1973/74 season. But after conceding to Atlético Madrid in extra time and needing a 120th-minute, last-gasp equalizer to force a replay — the first and only time that’s ever happened in Europe’s top competition — the Bavarians’ odds of collecting the silverware seemed long. However, two goals apiece from legends Uli Hoeneß and Gerd Müller in the second leg powered the side that would become known as FC Hollywood to a 4-0 win and the first of their five European crowns.
DESIGN STORY
The match side of the wristband takes its inspiration from the club’s iconic home, Allianz Arena. The reverse features classic Bavarian diamonds and the famed motto “mia san mia”, which means “we are who we are”.
