Black and Yellow Forever Wristband
Show your commitment to Die Schwarzgelben by wearing the club’s first European title on your wrist.
MATCH STORY
After ending a 30-year title drought with Bundesliga championships in 1995 and 1996, Dortmund’s supporters turned their attention towards finally lifting a European championship. Guided by the legendary manager Ottmar Hitzfeld, the team blazed their way through the 1996/97 European Cup field to their first-ever final. However, facing current holders Juventus, few believed the Germans had much of a chance. But two first-half strikes in five minutes from striker Karl-Heinz Riedle were enough to wash over the champions and set Dortmund on the path to a 4-1 win and the club’s most important silverware.
DESIGN STORY
The match side of the wristband takes its inspiration from the revolutionary neon-yellow kits dawned by Die Borussen in the 96/97 cup final, and it sits over a depiction of the famous Yellow Wall that now supports them at each home match. The reverse features stripes of the club’s traditional Die Schwarzgelben — “black and yellow”.
